A Turkish food cart company, Delicious Turkish Food Truck, opened in New York City on Friday.
The business started off as a concept idea for a company that wanted to sell food in the U.S., but it quickly became a reality thanks to the support of the local Turkish community.
The company’s owner and founder, Zeyd Aksoy, said they’re happy to be launching their truck in New Jersey and the New York area, where he says the community is much more open and welcoming than in Turkey.
Aksoys company is the first to be in the New Jersey market.
“We are thrilled to be opening a truck in Jersey City, where we will be able to expand our reach to even more restaurants, cafes and eateries in the city,” Aksoiys stated in a press release.
“Our goal is to make the New Yorker experience more inviting, and we are excited to help bring great food and service to our friends in New England.”
Delicious Turkyfoods owner and owner Zeyda Aksoiy is looking forward to the opportunity to bring Turkish food to New York.
Aksoiiy’s mother and her sister were born in Turkey and they have lived in the United States for more than two decades.
The Aksoiya family is one of the largest Turkish-American families in New America, with three generations of their family members living in the state.
AkSOiys mother, Yvonne Aksoyan, is an accountant and former vice president of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
In an interview with The Atlantic, Aksoya said the experience of living in a Muslim country has been difficult, but also a blessing in that it allowed her to realize her dreams.
“It has been a very tough experience, but I think the opportunities that we have had in the US have given us hope and inspired us to do more, and now that we are here in New Zealand, we are looking forward,” she stated.
“I think New Zealand has become the place where I am coming from.
It has made it a much more positive place to be.”
DeliciousTurkishFoods opened in the boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island on February 27, 2018.
The company’s first New York location will open in New Brunswick on March 2, 2019.
