The top five were based on ratings of the food, service and environment.
Food rating scale: The Times of Ireland ranked India’s best food based on seven criteria: flavour, quality, presentation, value, price and service.
The Indian food was also rated on a scale of 1 to 10 based on its food and service experience, quality of ingredients and the variety of its dishes.
Food rated: The New York Times’ Food & Wine magazine ranked India third in the country with its food, while the Times’ World Traveler magazine ranked it fourth.
The Times of America gave India a 4.4 out of 10, while The Washington Post’s Best of America’s food critic, Emily Clements, gave it a 4 out of 5.
